Death's Rise (Plot B)

Alex, already tired of the cloaked sniper being a jerk, pulls out his SMG and puts it against the sniper's head.
Alex: The way I see it, you have two options. You either let me in the jeep with you and keep your mouth shut, or I can blow your brains out and take the jeep myself.

The cloaked sniper looks down the barrel of the SMG then turns to the jeep.

Cloaked Sniper: Fine, he can come.

The cloaked sniper then throws his sniper rifle into the back of the jeep and hops into the driver's seat. After several attempts with the ignition, the jeep starts up.

Cloaked Figure: ...*Turns to Alex.* Excuse my ex. The heat always gets to him.

Alex turns to normal and hops into the backseat of the jeep.
Alex: *To cloaked figure* I can see why you dumped him.

The cloaked figure gets into the passeenger seat and the sniper finally drives off, deeper into the dunes.

Unnoticed in the distance, a lone reaper is standing on a pillar of rock, watching the group drive off.

Back in the jeep...

Cloaked Figure: *To Alex.* So where are you from?

Alex: Some place you probably have never heard of or never will care about.

Cloaked Figure: Try me.

Alex is silent for a few seconds.
Alex: The Forest of Illusion. There, I said it.

Cloaked Figure: Oh? So you are from the Mushroom Kingdom then? If that is true, then you must be a Koopa, *Looks at Sniper.* NOT A TURTLE.

The sniper just shakes his head.

Alex: Well, at least SOMEBODY can tell the difference.

The jeep abruptly stops outside the entrance to cave and the sniper hops out, grabs his rifle, and walks into the cave. The figure removes her goggles and pulls down the cloth covering her mouth. She then turns to Alex, showing her blue eyes and near perfect face.

Maria: I'm Maria. *Holds out hand.*

Alex: Alex.
Alex, being a bit of a jerk, doesn't bother shaking Maria's hand.

Maria climbs out of the jeep and motions Alex to follow her.

Alex follows Maria, because he has nothing better to do.

Underneath the dunes(Wild)

Maria: Stay between us Alex. If there are any Dune Scorpions in here, we will tell where they are coming from.
