Armacham Technology Corporations (F.E.A.R./Future)

This is Armacham in the future. It's even more destroyed then usual, with few traces of Alma or Paxton Fettel. Still, Alma is responsible for lots of superstition and paranoia, so few go near the place.

Alex enters the topic.

A rat named "Filler" runs around.

Alex enters the ruined facility and walks up to a makeshift gravestone and altar. On the gravestone is carved "Hazel".

Rat Named "M. Night Shymalan": WHAT A TWIST!

Alex punts the rat out of the topic and leans by the gravestone.
Alex: Oh god, Hazel... what am I going to do? These wierdos want me to join another group of heroes to stop evil and... well, you know what happened the last time I did that.

Meanwhile, Filler the Rat looks around for food.

Most of it has been stockpiled by Alex.
Alex: I can't be a hero, Hazel. I'm a failure at that. So why do these people ask these things of me?

Random Person: why are you talking to that makeshift gravestone?

Other Random Person: A, he's semi-crazy. B, it's supposed to represent Alex's inner conflict with himself over whether or not he should help these people.

Random Person: But how is he going to get any answers if he asks himself?

Other Random Person: It's either that, or his author posts heavily dramatic text that's not being said by anyone. For example, "Alex, with a heavy and conflicted heart, due to being asked to join a group of heroes yet knowing what happened to the last group, sighs and collapses in a heap on the makeshift grave's side."

Random Person: You're right, that way does make more sense.

Other Random Person: And why are we still here? Isn't this place home to the ghost chick who can kill you with her brain?
Other Random Person flees.

Alex: Wait a second... if they really wanted me, then that must mean I have a chance at being a hero again.
A smile briefly comes to Alex's face.
Alex: My life could come back to semi-normal.
Alex resumes frowning.
Alex: But that won't happen. It's only a chance.
Alex goes back to moping.

OOC: BTW, tuzl, in the present, Alex convinced Reeka to help him by convincing Reeka that Alex could get the thing Reeka wanted most. In the future, what Alex wants most is for people to not hate him. Hint hint.

Random Person: You are a hero.

OOC: Ya, but General Toad is busy recruiting somebody else right now.

Alex: Tell that to everyone else.

Random Person: Hey everyone else, I think he is a hero.
Random Person named Everyone Else: Really? I do too.

Random Person named Everyone Else: Wait, you're talking about Batman, right? Because if you're talking about Alex, that changes entirely. He's just an @$$hole.

A rat named Algernon: Well I don't know about this Reeka guy, but you've sure confused the shoes off me!

Another rat: But you're not wearing shoes...

A rat named Algernon: My point exactly!

Random Person: Wait, he's not Batman?

Random Person named Everyone Else: Alex? He's definately not Batman! There's no contest in heroism!

Rat who's Alex's fan: ALEX IS AWESOME!

Rat named Alex: Gee, thanks!
Rat who's Alex's fan: No problem!

Random Person: I know, but they both seem goth to me.

Rat Who's Alex's fan: Will you sign my forehead?
