Hayabusa Village (Ninja Gaiden)

Aya looks around and notices the Shade. She aims her rifle at him.

Aya: WHO ARE YOU!?!?

The Shade: A pleasure to make your aquiantance.
Meanwhile, the whole village starts slowly but steadily growing darker.

Aya: What's going on!?

The Shade: My friends are merely doing what they do best.
Random denizens of the village are running about in panic.
Ryu: And what they do best is clearly not good. Leave or suffer the consequences.

Aya continues to aim her rifle at the Shade.

The Shade: Your silly weapons don't frighten me. Now then...
Creepy fog starts to flow out of The Shade's cloak.

Aya shoots at the Shade.

The bullet goes through The Shade as the fog wraps around our heroes, which includes Ryu.

Aya steps away from the fog, backing up closer to the group.

Demonic hands spring from the fog to smack the heroes. Erix and Cameron barely feel anything while it hurts the humans a bit more.

Aya casts a Barrier around herself to soften the blows.

John has the strategy of hiding between Erix, Aya, and Cameron to rely on while Ryu leaps high into the air, pulls out a bow and arrow, and fires explosive arrows at The Shade. All go through him and explode on contact with the ground.

Aya is struggling whether or not she should use her Liberation form to blow the wind away at the risk of losing control and hurting her friends and innocents.

Ryu, noticing that none of his attacks will hurt The Shade, turns his attention to the Gloom soldiers and fires explosive arrows at them instead.

Aya makes up her mind and goes into her Liberation form. She spins around in place, whipping the wind and causing the fog to get blown away.

More fog starts rolling in as the Gloom soldiers explode. Meanwhile, more Gloom soldiers try to tear Erix apart, but have no success whatsoever. Erix, having no clue what's going on, just stands there.

Liberated Aya kicks each the Gloom soldiers on Erix off, each kick causing a small explosion on contact with a Gloom soldier.

Upon being kicked, the Gloom Soldiers snap in two. The Gloom Soldiers that were busy trying to destroy themselves by absorbing light focus their attention on Aya, twist over to her, and attempt to kick her.

The kicks don't seem to faze Aya. Aya continues to kick Gloom soldiers that attempt to attack the group.

These Gloom soldiers also snap in half. With each Gloom death, some light returns to Hayabusa Village.

Aya continues her onslaught.

The Glooms eventually back off from Aya and softly moan, as if calling something.

Aya stops and pants heavily, mainly from dashing from place to place to attack the Gloom and the amount of neo-mitochondria she has used so far.

A large crack in the ground opens in front of Aya and a large, Goomba-like figure with some Gloom elements to it (color scheme, no basic skeleton, and just plain creepy) crawls out of it.

New Monster: King Gloomba

Aya dashes over to King Gloomba and kicks it square in the face.
