The Tower of Babel (Book of Genesis)

The Tower of Babel is a structure featured in chapter 11 of the Book of Genesis, an enormous tower intended as the crowning achievement of the city of Babilu, the Akkadian name for Babylon. According to the biblical account, Babel was a city that united humanity, all speaking a single language and migrating from the east; it was the home city of the great king Nimrod, and the first city to be built after the Great Flood. The people decided their city should have a tower so immense that it would have "its top in the heavens." However, the Tower of Babel was not built for the worship and praise of God, but was dedicated to false man-made religion, with a motive of making a 'celebrated name' for the builders. - Genesis 11:4. However God, seeing what the people were doing and sinning against him, confused their languages and scattered the people throughout the earth.

Darkling appears.

Death appears at the very top of the tower and looks down at the clouds.

Death: Darkling, up here.

Darkling flies up to the top of the tower.

Somewhere far in the distance, Paper Mario Plane is gliding towards the Tower of Babel, the Crystal Stars orbiting around him.

Death: *Sees Paper Mario.* Darkling, we have some unwanted company.

Paper Mario unfolds to his normal self and the Crystal Stars orbit him even faster.
<Paper Mario> Hello there! Miss me?
Paper Mario sends the Ruby Crystal Star around Darkling and binds him with its trail-like beam.

Darkling disappears. He reappears behind Paper Mario and Slashes him rapidly.

Paper Mario got struck by each blow, but then he was hoisted high into the air away from Darkling with the Diamond Crystal Star.

Death aims two boney fingers at the Diamond Crystal Star and shoots a beam of dark energy at it.

Darkling takes out a Bow-and-arrow from his back and shoots an arrow at the Diamond Star, which is Super Charged with Dark Energy.

The Diamond Crystal Star plummets away from the beam and the arrow as it goes crashing right through Darkling, smashing him into the ground with an earthquake.

Darkling's armor protects him from most of the damage. Darkling takes out a giant Pencil and points the eraser end at Paper Mario.

Death: This was not supposed to happen!

???: Need a hand?

Death swiftly turns around and sees Succubus with her flirtatious expression.

Death: Just who I needed to see.

Succubus: I missed you too.~

Death: Go down there and stop that paper freak.

Succubus flies out from the tower and towards Paper Mario.

<Paper Mario> A magic eraser?! Now way! I can understand Crystal Stars holding the essence of the heavens, but not magic erasers!
Paper Mario withdraws the Diamond Crystal Star and runs up the tower to a safe vantage.
<Paper Mario> (Nothing works on this guy! If he becomes the ruler of the universe, we're all doomed forever!)
Just then, a black katana from out of nowhere flew at Darkling. A dark energy surrounded it, sharpening its edge. It slashed through Darkling like a knife through a tomato, breaking through a big chunk of his armor.

This does not happen, as Darkling's armor is indestructible. Also, since it's Dark energy, Darking makes it shoot back at its owner simply by moving his hand.

Darkling begins to erase Paper Mario's leg.

Succubus: Hmm? *Looks at where the sword came from.*

<OOC> In...*twitch* Indestructible?! (Drat, I'm going berserk again.)

The katana does not harm its owner--he phases through it. He simply re-summons it and floats over to Darkling...or rather, he dashes right past him, snatching the magic eraser. He's revealed to be the same evil red Yoshi with the long hair that's been causing trouble at Luca and Gateon Port. He smirks down at Darkling as he floats high in the air, his eyes dripping blood.
<Evil Yoshi> Oh. My bad. I forgot that light erases dark.
With that, he charges the katana with light and gouges it into the magic eraser, drawing out Paper Mario's leg with it. Paper Mario, who is high up on the Tower out of Darkling's REACH *hint hint* sees this.
<Paper Mario> My leg! Can I have that back?
The Yoshi just laughs and pockets the leg.
<Evil Yoshi> Pffft! No! Not until I finish business here.
He aims his light-charged katana at Darkling.

Succubus kicks the Evil Yoshi in the back of the head with tremendous force.

Succubus: Now boys, no fighting around women! *Flirts.*

OOC: He can still be hurt though. His Armor just can't be broken.

Also, Darkling is supposed to be up on the Tower, too. I'm confused...

OOC: The battle is being fought in the air. I thought you knew that?

<OOC> Oh. Didn't notice that.

The Yoshi doesn't even flinch from this. He just whirls into Succubus and inflicts a big gash into her leg with his katana.
<Evil Yoshi> Tsk. Demons don't scare me--be they boy or girl.
He then charges power and lets out a destructive psychokinetic pulse all around himself.

OOC: Oh. >.<

IC:

Darkling slashes Evil Yoshi with his Sword.

Succubus runs her hand over the gash and licks the blood.

Succubus: Mmm, men with power... I like that.

OOC: God, I hate playing as her, but I needed her in the Castlevania plot.

Right after receiving a scratch from the blade, the Yoshi teleported. He chuckled as he reappeared behind Darkling, clutching his bleeding arm.
<Evil Yoshi> How nice...And I thought only my eyes would bleed...
His katana charged light power again and aimed threateningly at...some opening in Darkling's armor. (Is there any opening?)
