The Floating Island (Cave Story)

Merloco watches Alex.

Alex unstraps the puppy, which leaps onto his face and starts licking it. Alex then grabs the puppy, puts it on his head, and pulls a lever. The lever electrifies the chair, which causes sparks to fly. John and Dr. Y turn to Alex angrily before noticing the puppy's on his head.
Alex: Did you "geniouses" ever think of removing the puppy first?

Merloco looks off to the side awkwardly.

Dr. Y: Uh...
John: Well...
Alex: Whatever.
Alex pulls the lever, blowing up the glass box and leaving the blunderbuss inside intact. Quote runs up to the blunderbuss and grabs it.

*Meanwhile, the Mimiga Miners obtained some sort of statue that shaped like a... Manbearpig???*

Merloco: Back to Jenka.

My characters walk back down the path.

As do my characters. Alex knocks on the door.
Jenka: Are you a...
Alex: No.
Jenka opens the door and my characters head in, the puppy leaping off Alex's head and to the other puppies.

Merloco: Okay, picking up where you last left off, what exactlly controls the island if it isn't the artifact?

Jenka: The artifact was supposedly destroyed long ago, but now it's back. I suppose it has something to do with that temple, and the person who moved in...
Alex: Listen, you old bat, that wasn't what he asked.
Jenka: But I'm telling you a story!
Alex: Yeah, that's great. Tell us the right story.
Jenka: There are no "right" stories. Only ones convinient. And I'll tell you more about the temple if you bring me my next puppy.
Alex: But what about the i...
Jenka: Be a dear and get the puppy, would you?
Alex mutters something (probably nasty) under his breath before leaving, followed by the White Platoon (which, though they're not official members, includes Curly and Quote).

Merloco: To the next two paths!

Suddenly, merry singing can be heard coming from one of the paths. Faint at first, but steadily growing, it sounds like it is heading towards the group.

Alex: Hold on. Where's that coming from?

Down one of the paths, a man wearing gaudy clothing can be seen, singing merrily.

Merloco: Hey you!

Gaudy Man: Mmmmmyes?

Merloco: Do you mind keeping it down a bit? I think you're disturbing the peace.

Gaudy Man: How dare you!? My singing brings joy to those around me! Haha!

Various species of skeleton crocodile head, irritated by the man's singing, attack him.

The man, surprisingly, dodges every single attack.

Merloco: What the!? How did he...

The man then grabs one of the crcodile heads and starts beating the other crocodile head that even dare try to attack him.

Alex: Just back away very slowly.
Alex and co. back away down one of the paths they haven't gone down.

After dealing with the croc heads, the man blocks the path.

Gaudy Man: Where are do you think you are going!?

Julius: Look, we don't want any trouble.

Shasazala: It is too late for that! I will make you all love the music sung by...

Shasazala! The Unfortunate Teller! HAHAHAHA!!!

Merloco: ... Wow, this guy is... fruity, to say the least.

Alex stealthily puts in earplugs.

Shasazala quickly twirls over to Alex and smiles.

Alex says nothing.

Shasazala grabs hold of Alex's face and blasts him with a powerful force of energy from the same hand.

Alex is sent flying backwards.
Alex: You call that singing?

Shasazala: Don't you hear a ringing in your ears?~

Alex has earplugs on. He hears nothing.

Shasazala: No matter... I will make you hear my music.

Merloco attempts to blast Shasazala with a lightning bolt, but Shasazala dodges and the bolt hits Alex instead.

Alex: Watch it!
Alex runs up to Shasazala, grabs him, and kicks him in the crotch.
