Main Street (Aura of the Moon)

Nathaniel stops in front of the lake in the park. The werewolf jumps high into the air and lands on Nathaniel, pinning his arms and legs down. Nathaniel struggles to get free, but this is useless. The werewolf almost smirks as he readies to eat his first prey, but before the werewolf could even get close to tasting him...

Nathaniel: JOSHUA!!! HELP ME!!!

The werewolf closes it's mouth and lets go of Nathaniel. It stands back up and grabs it's head in oain, a memory coming to him... one concerning a promise...

In the werewolf's head, the image is black and white. In the middle of a playground situated next to a school, a boy reaches up to get one of his toys... only to have to larger bullies pick it up and play an unfair game of monkey in the middle.

Little boy: Give it back!

Bully 1: What are you going to do about it, baby!?

Bully 2: Yeah, baby gonna cry if he doesn't get his toy!?

The little boy stops jumping and starts to cry.

???: Give it back to him, now!

The bullies turn to a boy about their height.

Bully 1: What are you going to do about it!?

The boy charges and tackles the bully holding the toy, causing him to fall down and drop the toy.

Bully 1: Ugh! You'll pay for that!

Both the bullies run away. The boy walks up to the little boy and hands it back to him.

Boy: Come on Nathaniel, stop crying. You know I don't like it when people are sad.

Young Nathaniel looks up at Joshua with tears rolling off his cheeks. He grabs his toy and starts to hug it.

Young Nathaniel: Thank you, Joshua...

Young Joshua: You're welcome. You know as long as I am around, I will always protect you. Now come one, Aunt Chris is waiting for us...

The two boys walk off into the distance and that is where the memory stops.

*The DeSoto stops behind the werewolf.*

*Max jumps out of the DeSoto.*

Max: We have some unfinished business to take care of, wolfman.

Sam: Yeah, leave him alone! What did he ever do to you?

Nathaniel gets back up and tries to run away.

Werewolf: N-Nathaniel...

Nathaniel stops and turns around, recognizing the voice.

Werewolf: Please... help me...

Nathaniel: J-Joshua?

Sam: Max, wait a minute!

Max: Huh? That monster can talk?

Sam: *walks over to Werewolf Joshua and talks to Max.* It turns out that this beast is actually his brother. The question is that who or what made him this way?

Max: Typical mutant wolves, I assume. But it's his fault for making me look like this!

Nathaniel slowly approaches Werewolf Joshua.

Nathaniel: W-what happened to you Josh?

Werewolf Joshua: I think that large dog that attacked me... I think it was something else...

*Max looked at Sam.*

...

Sam and Max: Nah...

Nathaniel: Joshua... *Hugs Werewolf Joshua.*

Werewolf Joshua: You're... not afraid of me?

Nathaniel: I was, but you're my brother. I could never be scared of you.

Werewolf Joshua was hesitant at first, but then hugged Nathaniel back, his larger form nearly overshadowing Nathaniel. He started to cry and smiled.

Werewolf Joshua: Thank you, Nathaniel.

Nathaniel: No problem, Josh.

Max: *sniff* Gee, Sam! I think I got something in my eye!

Sam: Don't pick at it, Max! Your finger will get stuck.

In the distance, the sun is slowly rising and the sun light hits Werewolf Joshua. The fur sheds off of him and he changes back to his human form.

*So does Max, who is back to his ol' rabbity self.*

Max: Aww! I was going to have fun with this kind of power!

Nathaniel: Come on Josh, lets go back home.

Joshua: Right.

Nathaniel and Joshua head to the forest, but are blocked off by a Reaper.

Sam: Well that wasn't very nice. *walks over to the Reaper.* What's your problem? Why did you ruin such a touching moment?

Max: You have something against dramatic scenery, do you?

Reaper: We've been watching you two.

Joshua: Who, us?

Reaper: Yes... And we are quite impressed by what we have seen. Usually werewolves tear and maime any relatives of theirs.

Sam: Are you trying to stalk them because...

Reaper: Silence. *To Nathaniel and Joshua.* You know, we can help you.

Nathaniel: No you can't.

Reaper: Yes we can. We can track down the werewolf that attacked your brother.

Nathaniel: ...

Reaper: If you wish to join us, then must first accept the truth...

*Sam and Max just watches.*

Ashley is watching the scene (she got there after Joshua turned to normal), but not caring that much.

Joshua: What is the truth?

Reaper: That there is more to life than what you just see. Every day, there is a group who is out there trying to protect you from the truth, thinking it might be too early for some to accept it.

Joshua: Accept what?

Reaper: That magical creatures exist.

Suddenly, Red appears by Ashley.
Red: Ashley? Why did you shut the invisibility spell off?
Ashley: Hush.

Nathaniel: Magical creatures?

Reaper: You accept that your brother is now a werewolf, yes?

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Reaper: Well werewolves aren't the only magical creatures that exist. Think of any magical creature and it exists.

Nathaniel: So, dragons...

Reaper: Exist.

Nathaniel: Vampires...

Reaper: Exist. Those creatures are among some of the most difficult creatures to hide, but they exist.

Nathaniel: So how come we have never seen any dragons flying through the sky.

Reaper: Because there is a portal that leads from the Earth realm to the Magical realm. We reapers do our best to hold back most magical creatures, but currently our security seems to be... lacking authority.

Ashley keeps her sarcastic comments to herself.

Nathaniel: So, you're going to help us?

Reaper: Do you accept the truth so far?

Joshua: Yes.

Nathaniel: Yes.

Reaper: Then yes. Come, I shall take you to our sanctuary.

The reaper holds out his scythe and starts to trace a circle in the air. He stops and the scythe in the middle of where he traced the circle and a portal suddenly appears.

Reaper: Shall we?

The reaper walks into the portal, followed by Nathaniel and Joshua.

Ashley and Red leave the topic.

Sam: Well...

Max: Just hope that those reapers aren't thinking about taking their soul and banish them to Hell.

Sam: You're thinking of Grim Reapers. Anyway, we should be looking for the Wu for now.

*There is the Shadow Slicer in the water.*

Sam: Look Max! That's the one we need.

Max: I'm jumping for one!! *dives in and grabs the Shadow Slicer, then jumps out.*

Sam: Nice work, Max. What is it?

Max: I don't know. But if we find the Xaiolin Monks, they'll tell us what this thing do. *leaves with Sam with the DeSoto.*

The portal closes back and now it's time for anyone to appear.
