The Tower of Babel (Book of Genesis)

The bullet hits Wraith Guy, who just chuckles and stops spinning the scythe. Loud, banshee-like screams come from the vortex as thousands of lost souls pour from it and head for Nathaniel.

The cloaked person jumps infront of Nathaniel and holds the ankh up. The ankh creates a barrier around the trio in which the lost souls can't pass.

The lost souls circle the barrier repeatedly.

Anita tries to use her dark magic,b ut nothing happens.

Anita: Wh-what happened to my magic!? I can't do anything!

Cloaked Person: It looks like these anamolies have messed up your powers. Don't worry, I'll protect us.

The cloaked person starts to chant something in an ancient tongue. The barrier starts to grow larger and shine even brighter.

In impatience, Wraith Guy calmly floats up to the barrier and raises his scythe.

The cloaked figure shoots at the scythe.

The bullet bounces off the scythe blade with a "tink" as Wraith Guy slams the scythe down on the barrier, destroying it. The lost souls swarm Anita, Nathaniel, and Egyptian Cowboy Jesus the figure, binding Nathaniel's hands and feet and lifting him into the air.

Werewolf Nathaniel struggles to get free.

Though mostly insubstantial, the grip of the Lost Souls is firm. Several Lost Souls pass through Nathaniel's body, causing him a lot of pain.

Werewolf Nathaniel howl in pain.

Anita: Please, stop!

Wraith Guy: And if I refuse?

???: Then you'll screw up the plan, you idiot! What good is a dead angel if it isn''t killed on the pedestal!?

Silhouette appears out of the shadows behind Wraith Guy.

Wraith Guy: Simply because I am a harbinger of death does not mean I would kill him. No, this is merely pain to teach him what happens when he tries to run away.

Silhouette: Oooh, so you think you can take my job of torturing this poor mortal?

Wraith Guy: Last time I checked, you were failing at the job.

Silhouette: Last time I checked, you weren't summoned by Death!

Death's Voice: Both of you, stop arguing! Bring the boy to me!

Wraith Guy: I guess that proves Death has poor taste when actually CHOOSING minions. Poor him, having to have little brother do his work.
The lost souls carry Nathaniel back to the top of the Tower of Babel.

Cloaked Person: Damn it!

The cloaked person shoots at Wraith Guy and Silhouette. Silhouette disappears and reappears crouched infront of the person. Silhouette jumps up and kicksthe person in the chin, sending it flying up and hitting the ceiling of the room.

Silhouette: Pathetic...

The bullets that hit Wraith Guy naturally do nothing. Wraith Guy then turns to Anita and, if you could see behind his mask, he would be grinning evilly.

Anita starts backing away from Wraith Guy, only to back up into Silhouette. She turns and looks up at him in fear, who is smiling a toothy grin.

Silhouette: How nice... fresh blood.

Wraith Guy teleports in front of Anita.
Wraith Guy: Don't worry. This won't hurt a bit.
Wraith Guy extends his skeletal hand towards Anita, being tauntingly slow about it.

A bullet is shot and hits Wraith Guy's hand. Silhouette sighs and looks over at the cloaked person, who is still concious.

Silhouette: *Walks over to the person.* You're still alive? How... *Chops the person's gun hand off.* #@$&ING ANNOYING!!! Why can't you mortals just learn that your time is up? What is the point of even living if you don't know it's purpose!?

Cloaked Person: Isn't that a good reason to live? To try and find out?

Silhouette: Laaame.

Silhouette kicks the person in the face, knocking him back.

The bullet becomes stuck in Wraith Guy's hand. Wraith Guy calmly removes the bullet.
Wraith Guy: Oh, please.

Anita turns and runs down the stairs.

Silhouette: Damn, you made me miss a meal. I hope you're happy. *Stabs the person in the shoulder blade with a claw.* Now how are you going to make it up? *Stabs the other shoulder with a different claw on the same hand.* Hmm, the smell of your blood tells me you are rather old. *Stabs knee cap with a claw on other hand.* And your flesh won't make quite the soothing sound when it's torn. *Stabs other knee cap with a claw.* So you're practically worthless.

Wraith Guy teleports in front of Anita.
Wraith Guy: Are we going somewhere?
