Merloco: Wait a minute... Aren't you Alex?

Alex points his sword in Merloco's general direction (just because his eyes adjusted to the smoke doesn't mean they're completely adjusted).
Alex: How do you know my name?

Merloco: I-I came across a tattle on you in my Tattle Log. It said you saved the Mushroom Kingdom before.

Alex puts his sword up.
Alex: Oh.

LWB: Anyways, what are you doing? Did you come to stop E. Nigma as well?

Alex: E. Nigma? You mean that guy who tried taking me to Morbul is here? No, I'm here for something different. But, since I'm here and he's here, I don't see the harm in kicking his booty.

LWB: Great! I think we'll be needing as much help as we can get.

MWB turns to the door leading to the throne room.

MWB: This is it... E. Nigma's last stand...

LWB: He's no match for the Kindred Stone of All!

MWB: Who said the Kindred Stone of All was for him?

LWB: What? But I thought...

MWB: The Kindred Stone of All was meant to send Chaos back to his plain. You had the power all along to stop E. NIgma. We just needed you to gather the Kindred Stones just in case you screwed up and let E. Nigma succed in sacrificing the Princess.

LWB: Oh...

Alex groans.
Alex: This isn't another "if you believe in yourself, you can do anything" plot, is it?

MWB: Please, the only thing LWB can do is screw everything. It's his fault in the first place E. Nigma exists.

LWB punches MWB in the face. Merloco and Paint Pup are surprised by this.

LWB: SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

MWB: What's the matter? Can't handle the truth? The fact that your hatred towards the world was the reason why E. Nigma was brought to life?

LWB: SHUT UP!!!

Meanwhile, in the throne room, E. Nigma hears the commotion.

E. Nigma: Ah, right on time... But it sound like they are having a bit of trouble... Oh well, plenty of time for me to sacrifice the Princess.

E. Nigma walks up to the altar, which is based around a large swirling vortex just underneath the chandelier Princess Peach is tied to. E. Nigma starts to form hand signs.

E. Nigma: Chanden ztorie, chanden ztorie, chanden ztorie...

Alex: BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP! You are achieving nothing! Now, if you want to *truck horn* and moan about the faults of the other, that's fine. But do it outside so the people who actually want to save the day can!
Alex enters the throne room.

LWB and the others follow Alex inside.

E. Nigma stops chanting and looks up.

E. Nigma: Well, well, well, if it isn't the misfits.

LWB: E. Nigma, we've come to stop you once and for all!

E. Nigma: Really?

E. Nigma walks over and sits on the throne.

E. Nigma: Are you sure you want to do that?

LWB: I have to do something to make up for my mistakes!

E. Nigma: ... Why don't we make a deal instead?

LWB: A deal!? Is that what you're going to use to try and stop us!? You threatened the lives of thousands, you forced Princess Peach into a marriage and try to take this kingdom, and your stupid Shadows are trying to capture all the citizens!

LWB pulls out his brush and charges towards E. Nigma.

LWB: WHY SHOULD I MAKE A DEAL WITH YOU!?!?

E. Nigma: Because I can give you the family you've always wanted.

LWB suddenly stops and lowers his brush, a look of shock and amazement on his face.

Alex: Pfft. Family's overrated.

E. Nigma: Think about it, Luigi Wanna-Be... A mother, a father, heck, I can even make you a little brother if you wanted!

Merloco: LWB, don't listen to him!

E. Nigma: I just need you to do one, teeny, tiny, little task for me.

LWB: ... What do you want?

E. Nigma: *Points to the others.* Kill them.

LWB: WHAT!?!?

E. Nigma: You can do it, you have the Kindred Stone of All! Just... turn around and kill them...

LWB: But...

Suddenly, two Shadows in the shape of a mother and a father form in front of LWB and look down at him.

E. Nigma: They're waiting for you... just kill your friends...

Alex: What kind of mother and father are THAT? I didn't even know mine, and I know they'd somehow be better than some stupid shadow things.

E. Nigma: They'll become real once LWB fulfills his task.

LWB pulls out the Kindred Stone of All and turns to the others, looking down at the stone then at the others.

Merloco: LWB... don't...

Paint Pup: *Whimpers.*

MWB: *Readies brush.*

Alex: It's your loss if you try to kill us, dude.

LWB drops the stone and turns back to E. Nigma.

E. Nigma: WHAT!?!?

LWB: No E. Nigma, I won't be falling for your tricks anymore. During this journey, I realized that my friends are more than just friends... They're my family... except for Alex and that look alike. They were just here at the right time.

MWB: Oh, piss off...

Alex makes an obscene gesture in LWB's general direction.

E. Nigma: YOU IMPUDENT FOOL!!! SHADOWTROL!!! KILL HIM!!!

Shadowtrol forms behind the others and charges past them with his sword ready to stab LWB. Merloco runs after, but realizes he might be too late to stop Shadowtrol. LWB turns around and notices Shadowtrol about to stab him, but is too slow to react. A loud slash is heard... Merloco managed to jump in front of the blade to save LWB. LWB opens his eyes and looks in fear and horror. Shadowtrol withdraws his sword from Merloco's body, walks past LWB, and stands next to E. Nigma. LWB runs to Merloco.

LWB: Merloco, come on buddy, you can make it!

LWB notices that stab had hit Merloco's heart.

LWB: MERLOCO, NO!!!

Merloco: LWB... I'm sorry...

LWB: About what?

Merloco: The fight we had in Jazzafrazz Town... I was in too much of a hurry, I should have stopped and thought about you and Paint Pup...

LWB: No Merloco, you don't have to be sorry!

Merloco: But I was too hasty...

LWB: We were on a mission, you had your head in the right place!

Merloco tries to chuckle, but immediately starts coughing.

Merloco: It wasn't about the mission... I wanted to see the world, but I thought you two would weigh me down... But I was wrong... If it wasn't for friends like you, I would have been lost...

LWB chuckles, trying to hold his tears back.

LWB: ... But you always managed to find your way out of a situation...

Merloco: Not this time... Please, after this, go to Star Born Valley and give my friends my regards...

LWB: NO MERLOCO, DON'T SAY THAT!!!

Merloco: Good bye... I will always treasure our friendship...

And with that, Merloco's body turns into a type of dust, leaving only his star pendant intact. LWB silently cries to himself, looking down at his friend's remains. MWB remains silent while Paint Pup whimpers and walks over to LWB.

LWB: You... This is all your fault...

LWB's clothes turns completely black and his skin turns grey. He glares at E. Nigma with red eyes.

LWB: I'LL KILL YOU!!!

Suddenly, several explosive Kunai are thrown at Shadowtrol from the smoke that's still there.

Even though Shadowtrol is wearing Shadow Armor... he dies.

MWB: Great, more company.

Alex: Due to plotholes, I know that as long as the Scorn are alive, E. Nigma can't be killed or something like that. Now, who's up for some killing? Besides the guy in the silly blue hat.

A red aura forms around DLWB and then floats over and around E. Nigma.

E. Nigma: Aaahhh... refreshing...

MWB: The heck?

E. Nigma: I was formed from the hatred inside LWB. It's only natural that when his hatred grows, my power grows as well.

MWB: Oh no... Quickly Alex! We have to kill him now!

MWB starts drawing a circle on the ground.

MWB: Cover me!

Alex pulls out Bane and Doomsday, doing his best to "cover" MWB.
