The Floating Island (Cave Story)

Merloco: Good. Now go get the puppy.

Alex mumbles something (probably rude) before getting out of his shell and heading over to the puppy.
Disembodied voice: HALT!
Alex halts.

Merloco: Oh, wait, let me guess what you are about to say next, I'm psychic that way! Umm... you are the one holding the puppy and you won't let us have it unless we beat you in a game. Is it something along those lines?

Disembodied Voice: I was going to say I'm bored and I'll give you the puppy if you beat me in a game, so yeah.

Merloco: Meh.

Disembodied Voice: Right. I'm going to shuffle these coconut shells around, and if you can tell me which one the puppy's under, I'll let you have it.
The coconuts start shuffling rapidly, but the puppy stays in one place.

Merloco and Yoko watch carefully.

Alex does not pay attention. Eventually, the shells stop shuffling, and the puppy is right behind them.
Disembodied Voice: Now... where is the puppy?
Alex: Surely you "geniuses" can figure this out yourself.

Merloco walks up to the table and picks the puppy up.

Merloco: Right here.

Disembodied Voice: What th... how did... what did yo... ARGH! I can't believe you figured that out!

My characters turn around and start walking away.

Meanwhile, Shasazala wakes up and stands back up. He curls in pain and remember what all happened before he passed out from the massive pain.

Shasazala: That naughty turtle! I swear I while get my vengance on him!

Shasazala runs off the path and out of the topic.

The puppy leaps onto Alex's head as the White Platoon heads back towards Jenka's hut.
Alex: That was the lamest challenge ever.

Merloco: I just hope the last challenge doesn't turn out to be the worst.

Alex knocks on the door.
Jenka: Are...
Alex: I'm not a monster.
Jenka opens the door as the White Platoon heads in.

My characters head inside.

The puppy leaps off of Alex and goes to join the others.

Merloco: Okay, you said that someone moved into the temple. Have you gotten any specific features of that person like, oh, I don't know, completely black scales and a blood red cape?

Jenka: Yes. A person of that description came quite recently into the temple.

Merloco: Hmm... have you seen any other people, or... things enter the temple after that person?

Jenka: Balrog entered the temple shortly after the person arrived, and it's safe to assume Misery went as well. I can't be sure, since I never see her. But the gate to the temple is locked, so you won't be able to get in.

Merloco: Darn... Is there a key to the gate?

Jenka: Yes, but I'll only...
Alex: Listen, lady. Next time someone comes into your house, don't force them to bribe you with puppies for information.
Alex and the White Platoon leave Jenka's house.

Merloco: And for goodness sakes woman, put a leash on them next time!

My characters leave and walk down the path.

My characters follow. The path leads to an area with six doors and a puppy.

Merloco: Oh boy...
