The Floating Island (Cave Story)

All of the White Platoon members (even Quote and Curly, but minus Cameron and Dr. Y) look at the ground and share a moment of silence.

Merloco: It can't be... not another one... *Kneels and prays.* Please... not him...

In Alex's soul, a reaper appears and stands there.

Reaper: Are you ready? *Holds hand out.*

In Alex's soul, a sign is there.
Sign: Alex's spirit is currently busy trying to help a bear, a bird, and two "Super Geniouses" beat a quiz show in return for his life. And yes, I am a talking sign.

Reaper: Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Another reaper appears.

Reaper 2: You watch the Dark Crystal too much.

Reaper 1: Shut up.

Both reaper's leave.

OOC: I was in a play production of that once. I played the Chamberlain.

IC:

John: Well, perhaps there is a way to destroy Morbul without Alex and we just don't know it.

OOC: Hmmmmmmmmmm...

IC:

Merloco silently shakes his head.

Merloco: It was Alex's powers that made Morbul invincible, so it must be Alex who kills him...

OOC: Mmm-hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm *mashes on M key*

IC:

John: I have had it with people saying that something can't be done because we lack the resources to do it. Nothing can't be done. The people who say otherwise don't try hard enough. So are we going to go back home, minus Alex, and say that all of this was for nothing?

OOC: Hmmmmmmmm. *Old Man Herbert.*

IC:

Julius: John, please...

Merloco: Well what do you have in mind for killing Morbul!?

John rummages through Alex's shell and takes out Wrath.

Merloco: John, you will get yourself killed if you tried going against Morbul!

John: I know. I was just pulling this out because, well, it's my idea.

Merloco just stares at John.

Yoko: I... I think we should follow John's plan.

John tosses Wrath to Dr. Y (as he's the only other member of the group that knows how to use one). The White Platoon then starts heading out of the Labyrinth.

Julius and Merloco follow, but Yoko stays behind.

Yoko: ... Good bye... Alex...

Yoko then gets up and follows the others.

Meanwhile, back at the temple, Misery and Balrog arrive back in Morbul's inner chamber.

Eventually, the White Platoon arrives back at Arthur's house through the teleporter.

Aya is still hiding behind the tree.

Aya: I hope the others are okay...

Morbul: This island is not falling to the ground. What did you do wrong?
Misery: The turtle wouldn't destroy the core.

Kazuma: I notice the turtle's gone. What happened to him?

Julius: He's...

Merloco: ... dead...

Kazuma: Oh...
Sue: I bet it was Misery! THAT LOUSY LITTLE...
Kazuma: Sue, you're not helping.

Merloco: It was her, but she was forced to do it.

Sue: Forced to? She does everything he...
Kazuma puts his hand over Sue's mouth.

Merloco: We believe that Morbul has the Demon's Crown and that he is using it to control Balrog and Misery.

Sue: Mmph!
Kazuma: Yes, that would make sense. Balrog had good behavior until recently.

Merloco: So now all we need to do is enter the temple and destroy the crown.

Kazuma: That might work... for a short time.
